Overview

Organizations are the top-level entity in Raycaster Doc. Every project belongs to an organization, and team members are managed at the org level through your identity provider.

Organization Types

Team Organization

Shared workspace for your company or team. Members are managed through your identity provider. Supports multiple projects with shared billing.

Personal Organization

Auto-provisioned for individual users. Your personal projects live here when you’re not working within a team org.

Member Management

Organization members are synced from your identity provider (Clerk). When a user is added to or removed from your organization, their access is automatically updated in Raycaster Doc.

How Org Membership Affects Project Access

  • Organization-visible projects — All org members automatically get member access
  • Private projects — Only explicitly invited members can access the project
  • Explicit project memberships always override implicit org-level access

Billing

Billing is scoped to the organization level:
  • All projects in an org share a single credit balance
  • Usage from any project member’s chat sessions is debited from the org balance
  • Admins can view usage breakdowns and manage credits

Storage Limits

Each project has a configurable storage quota managed at the org level. Org admins can adjust per-project limits to control resource usage across the organization.
