Understanding Organizations

In Raycaster AI Workspace, organizations are the top-level containers for all your data. They help separate different client projects, research initiatives, or business units.

Organization Switching

If you have access to multiple organizations, you can easily switch between them:

1

Access Organization Switcher

Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the header

2

Select Organization

Click “Switch Organization” from the dropdown menu

3

Choose Organization

Select the organization you want to access from the list

When you switch organizations, all data and settings are specific to that organization. Each organization maintains its own sheets, research, and configurations.

Creating a New Organization

To create a new organization:

1

Access Organization Switcher

Click on your profile icon, then select “Switch Organization”

2

Create New

Click the “Create Organization” button at the bottom of the organization list

Fill out the required information:

  • Organization name (required)
  • Organization logo (optional)
  • Industry category (recommended)
  • Description (optional)
4

Confirm Creation

Click “Create” to establish the new organization

When you create a new organization, the system automatically:

  • Sets you as the administrator
  • Creates default research pages (Company Research, People Research)
  • Applies default settings based on your selections

Managing Members

Administrators can invite and manage organization members:

Click the “Invite Members” button

3

Add email addresses for the people you want to invite

  • Enter one email per line or separate with commas
  • Alternatively, paste a list of emails
4

  • Admin: Full administrative access to the organization
  • Member: Standard access to create and manage research
  • Viewer: Read-only access to organization content
5

Send Invitations

Click “Send Invites” to deliver email invitations

Managing Existing Members

From the Members tab, you can manage existing organization members:

  • View All Members: See all users with access to your organization
  • Search Members: Use the search bar to find specific members
  • Change Roles: Modify a member’s role by selecting from the role dropdown
  • Remove Members: Click the remove (trash) icon next to a member to revoke access

Removing a member immediately revokes their access to the organization. This action cannot be undone, though you can re-invite them later if needed.

Understanding Roles and Permissions

Raycaster uses role-based access control to manage permissions:

RoleDescriptionCapabilities
AdminFull administrative control• Manage organization settings
• Invite/remove members
• Access all sheets
• Create/edit/delete all content
• Manage billing
MemberStandard contribution access• Access all sheets
• Create new sheets

Organization Data Isolation

Organizations in Raycaster maintain strict data isolation:

  • Separate Data: Each organization’s data is completely isolated from others
  • Independent Settings: Configuration settings apply only within the organization
  • Secure Access Control: Members only see organizations they’ve been invited to
  • Private Research: Research results stay within the organization

This ensures complete privacy between different client projects or business units.
